Hot Chocolate

Rain falls almost everyday in Jakarta, the city where I stay. It's pretty normal for a tropical country in this rainy season. Sometimes it can be quite disturbing, especially if you have many outdoor activities. But if you're spending most of your time indoor. It's time to enjoy hot drinks while relaxing or during hibernation (my favorite activity during this season). One of the options is Hot Chocolate. This piece of art came to my mind when I take a sip of it (thanks Choco). Dunno why I like to draw a girl wearing apron serving something, maybe I was a waitress in my previous life... just maybe. And after another cup of those Hot Chocos and extra effort to finish the piece, here it is!

Tempmas 2012

Do you ever heard about "Tempmas"? Tempmas is a contest held by GBAtemp every the end of the year to celebrate Christmas. The prizes varies every week for whole December, each week the prize will get bigger and better. The first week theme is to make a Holiday Themed Pokemon (Christmas of course). As a gamer I also join this contest, the only thing I missread was that only base pokemon will be judged not the evolutions. That means I overdoing the evolution pokemon boo hoo hoo, despite of that I'm not giving up to join next week contest. For all of you gamer or non gamer, you're welcome to join.... Merry Tempmas everyone!!

Birthday Joy

November, bulan berbahagia, bulannya nafsu makan meningkat tajam dan hujan sedang rajin-rajinnya mengguyur tanah kelahiranku. Mungkin itu juga asalnya lagu November Rain oleh Guns N'Roses dan film Sweet November (ceritanya lagi doyan-doyannya makan yang manis-manis gitoe... agak sedikit ga nyambung sih karena film ini sebetulnya termasuk sad story) yang salah satu tokohnya diperankan si ganteng Keanu Reeves.

Di bulan inilah diriku dilahirkan, sesuai dengan namaku Novi, yang sekali sebut orang-orang pasti bisa ancer-ancer kapan saatnya nagih traktiran. Tapi di tahun ini banyak kejutan-kejutan yang tidak disangka, mulai dari serangan fajar alias dadakan dari keluarga tercinta ke kantor lengkap dengan cake yang lezat dari Holand Bakery sampai dengan dapet traktiran hidangan penutup yang lezaatttt banget di Bakerzin (buat yang penasaran bisa lihat foto-fotonya, hati-hati ada yang netes ya alias mupeng...)

Semoga bulan ini menjadi bulan yang penuh berkah buat semuanya (terutama buat keluarga dan sahabat-sahabat tercinta yang sudah bersedia meluangkan waktu mereka untuk bersama-sama merayakan ulang tahunku). Love you all with all my heart...!!

Note: Semua makanan di atas wajib masuk daftar icip jempol dahhh, terutama Bailey's Irish Cream Souffle uenakkk banget lembut dan creamy dicelup ke sausnya so yummy....

Candy Apple ・りんごキャンディ

りんごキャンディ・ Candy Apple merupakan permen yang terbuat dari sebuah apel utuh berlapis gula dan ditusuk dengan sebatang stik. Permen ini dibeli saat JAK-JAPAN Matsuri 2012, pesta festival tahunan yang diadakan di Monas, Jakarta. Sebetulnya bentuknya lebih manis lagi dari ini, bentuknya yang sedikit tidak rata dikarenakan saat lapisan gula yang masih panas langsung dilapisi dengan plastik. Meskipun demikian, rasa manis gula bercampur dengan apel itu sendiri cukup nikmat di lidah.

Selanjutnya, bisa dilihat pada foto ada sebuah botol cantik yang menemani si Candy Apple. Untuk membuat botol tersebut cukup dengan sedikit berimajinasi dengan benda-benda yang ada di sekitarmu. Kali ini disertakan juga penjelasan singkat cara membuatnya, selamat mencoba!

りんごキャンディ・ Candy Apple is a whole apple with a stick inserted as a handle, then covered in sugar coating. I bought this treat in JAK-JAPAN Matsuri 2012, an annual event which held at Monas, Jakarta. Wrapping the candy with plastic while it still hot causing a little mess with the candy's shape. Despite of the appearance, I enjoy the sweet taste of the candy combine with the apple in my mouth.

Enough with the Candy Apple, within this picture I accompanied the candy with a sweet bottle you can make by yourself. Just use a little imagination with all little things around you. This time I provide a brief how to make this cute bottle, just scroll down and enjoy!

1st Clay Project - Orenji

Percobaan kali ini membuat beruang yang lucu dari clay. Jenis clay yang digunakan adalah light clay (air dry clay, yang kering hanya dengan didiamkan di tempat terbuka). Kini sudah banyak ditemui di toko-toko buku besar atau toko kerajinan tangan. Berhubung baru mulai, masih mencoba dengan warna dasarnya yaitu putih. Dan masih belum disertai dengan gambar / video cara membuatnya (semoga ke depannya bisa terwujud). Untuk kali ini cukup dengan urutan langkah-langkahnya saja.

Buat bagian-bagian tubuhnya secara terpisah:
- 2 kuping, buat 2 bulatan kecil lalu tekan agak ke dalam
- 1 kepala, buat seperti telur puyuh
- 1 badan, buat seperti terong
- 2 tangan, buat seperti timun
- 2 kaki, buat seperti tangan agak besar dan bagian bawah diratakan

Satukan semua bagian tubuh tersebut dengan potongan tusuk gigi / lidi / kawat / lem (saya memilih yang pertama). Selain dengan lem, semua bagian harus segera ditusuk dan disatukan sebelum clay kering. Setelah semua bagian menyatu, tinggal menghias si beruang kecil. Bisa dengan potongan renda yang dililit menjadi rok, kemudian ditempel / dijahit manik-manik. Ditambahkan pita, bunga, dan aksesoris lainnya sesuka hati dan se-manis mungkin. Dan yang terakhir jangan lupa untuk memberikan mata dan hidung, gunakan pen / spidol berwarna hitam.

Black Jackets

Lanjutan dari bongkar-bongkar karya lawasku kemarin salah satunya adalah gambar Josephine, tokoh perempuan dari komik "Black Jackets" karya David Djohari yang diterbitkan Elex pada 2004 lalu. Jadi iseng membaca ulang kembali komik tersebut, yang menurut pribadi saya merupakan komik hasil karya pengarang Indonesia yang alur ceritanya menarik. Black Jackets mengangkat cerita perjuangan para penyihir di masa pembantaian penyihir. Tokoh utamanya adalah dua perempuan kakak beradik yang memiliki sifat yang sangat bertolak belakang. Memang ceritanya cukup singkat tapi alurnya termasuk rapi dan tokoh-tokohnya pun memiliki karakternya masing-masing. Dan nilai plus untuk puisi-puisi yang disematkan di dalamnya.

"Black Jacket" is a comic by David Djohari, an Indonesian comic author. The story about two sisters who struggle in witch's massacre era. They have opposite characters. It's a short story but I fell in love with the story line, the characters and the poets in it.

Paper Roses

Siapa sih yang tidak kenal dengan bunga mawar. Bunga yang satu ini terkenal dengan kecantikannya. Nah, pelajaran ketrampilan kali ini membuat bunga mawar dari kertas, cara membuatnya cukup mudah namun hasilnya wah. Bisa untuk penghias kado atau bila banyak untuk penghias ruangan. Dilengkapi dengan sedikit gambar dan cara pembuatan-nya. Selamat mencoba...

Roses are famous for their beauty. For this month's craft project, we will make roses from paper. They're quite simple and easy to follow. Use them to decorate presents, interior and so on. With pictures and step by step how to make them. Good luck...

A short trip to Ciater

Akhir pekan kemarin, aku dan beberapa teman pergi berlibur ke Ciater, Jawa Barat, Indonesia. Judulnya sih wisata malam karena memang tidak ada rencana menginap sama sekali. Berangkat menjelang tengah malam dan tiba di lokasi pada dini hari. Tujuan utamanya pemandian air panas yang sudah cukup terkenal, Sari Ater. Selain ke sana, sempat singgah di beberapa perkebunan teh di sekitar untuk mengambil beberapa foto. Berikut adalah beberapa foto yang sempat diambil selama di sana.

Last weekend me and my friends took a short trip to Ciater, West Java, Indonesia. We departed at almost midnight and arrived there at dawn. Our destination is a well known hot spring, Sari Ater. We also go to the tea garden around the spot and found a good spot to take photos. Below a few shots taken there.

Cafe Coffee

Hore, proyek pertamaku di bulan ini. Berawal dari bongkar-bongkar karya lama, ternyata banyak juga ide brilian yang belum berhasil dituntaskan. Setelah berkutat lama terpilihlah salah satu di antaranya. Dengan sedikit sentuhan untuk penyelesaian pola baju yang dikenakan si gadis, sampai pembuatan latar. Latar kali ini diambil dari setting sebuah kafe sungguhan yang berlokasi di salah satu mal di Jakarta. Mungkin buat yang berdomisili di Jakarta ada yang cukup familiar dengan lokasi tersebut.

Hooray, my first finished project in this month. It all started when I was looking back at my old arts, a lot of brilliant ideas among them. Too bad they're not finished yet. So I've chosen one of those unfinished arts, finished it with a little touch for the cloth's pattern and a nice background for the girl. With a real cafe at a mall in Jakarta for the background. Probably for those who stay in Jakarta quite familiar with the location.

So this is it, my first creation in this blog. Hope more will be coming and wish you all like it...

Day Two

My 600D on a break for a while, already took it to the vendor. And they suggest me to go to service centre, maybe next week. Since I cannot use my camera for this weekend, I will make a new project for this whole weekend. It will be called 'Polkadot Project' (wait for the outcome later).
